25 Uzbekistani som Banknote Design
The 25 Uzbekistani som note front design features the National Coat of Arms and the denomination, on a Uzbekistani ornamental pattern. The reverse of the note presents the Shah-i-Zinda (The Living King), a necropolis located in the northeastern part of Samarkand. The lettering is presented in the Tajik language. This note is part of the 1994 series, and its color is dark blue and brown on a multicolor underprint.

The soʻm has been the official currency of Uzbekistan since 1993. The word soʻm means “pure” in Kyrgyz, Uyghur, and Uzbek. The first banknotes issued by the State Bank of Uzbekistan were in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, and 10,000 soʻm.
It introduced a new series in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 soʻm, followed by a 200 soʻm in 1997, 500 soʻm in 1999, 1,000 soʻm in 2001, 5,000 soʻm in 2013, 10,000 and 50,000 soʻm in 2017, and the 100,000 soʻm in 2019.
