100000 Uzbekistani som Banknote Design
The 100000 Uzbekistani som note front design features the portrait of Mīrzā Muhammad Tāraghay bin Shāhrukh (1394 – 1449), who was a Timurid sultan, on a background with the solar system, the National coat of Arms, and the denomination. The reverse of the note presents the Mirzo Ulugʻbek Observatory located in Samarkand, a sketch map of Uzbekistan, and some geometrical figures. The lettering is in the Tajik language. This note is part of the 2019 series, and its color is light orange and brown.

The soʻm has been the official currency of Uzbekistan since 1993, when it replaced the ruble at par. The word soʻm means “pure” in Kyrgyz, Uyghur, and Uzbek. The first banknotes issued by the State Bank of Uzbekistan were in denominations of 1 to 10,000 soʻm.
It introduced a new series in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 soʻm, followed by a 200 soʻm in 1997, 500 soʻm in 1999, 1,000 soʻm in 2001, 5,000 soʻm in 2013, 10,000 and 50,000 soʻm in 2017, and the 100,000 soʻm in 2019.
