The 10 Uzbekistani som note front design features the National Coat of Arms and the denomination on a Uzbekistani ornamental pattern. The note’s reverse presents the Gūr-i Amīr (Guri Amir), a mausoleum of the Turco-Mongol conqueror Timur (Tamerlane) located in Samarkand. The lettering is in the Tajik language. This note is part of the 1994 series, and its color is purple and gray-blue on a multicolor underprint.

The soʻm has been the official currency of Uzbekistan since 1993. The word soʻm means “pure” in Kyrgyz, Uyghur, and Uzbek. The first banknotes issued by the State Bank of Uzbekistan were in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, and 10,000 soʻm.
It introduced a new series in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 soʻm, followed by a 200 soʻm in 1997, 500 soʻm in 1999, 1,000 soʻm in 2001, 5,000 soʻm in 2013, 10,000 and 50,000 soʻm in 2017, and the 100,000 soʻm in 2019.
The currency code for the Uzbekistani Som is “UZS.” The ISO 4217 number for this currency is 860. The currency symbol for the Som is “лв.”
