The Suriname dollar is the official currency in Suriname since 2004 when the dollar replaces the Surinamese guilder. Unlike the other American continent currency, these monetary systems do not fluctuate according to the market value. The central bank is setting the value of the currency. Surinamese people often call their currency SRD to differentiate the US dollar, which is also used for quotes for furniture, appliances, and automobiles.

Currently are circulating banknotes in denominations 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Surinamese dollars.

The 10 Dollars note front design features the Central Bank building (Paramaribo), Beehive ginger (zingiber spectabile). The reverse note side has the image of Yellow lapacho (tabebuia serratifolia), Suriname River. This note is part of the 2010 – 2019 series and, its color is Olive green on a multicolor underprint.
