Description

The Solomon Island dollar is the official currency of the Solomon Islands. The official currency symbol: SI$.

The Solomon Islands dollar was introduced after the country achieved its independence in 1977. The first banknotes were introduced in denominations of 2, 5, and 10 dollars, followed by the 20 dollar notes in 1980, and the 50 dollars note in 1986 and the 100 dollars note in 2006. The Central Bank of Solomon Islands issues all banknotes.

The 10 Solomon Islands dollar note front design features the National Coat of Arms on a background of an abstract pattern allusive to waves, followed by the national flag.

The reverse of the note illustrates a man holding a traditional tool that is used to pierce shell money along with a chain of shell money. This note is part of the 2017 series, and its color is purple, brown, violet and multicolor.
