Description
The Russian ruble is the official currency of the Russian Federation. The official currency symbol; ₽ – р / коп – к. The ruble has been used in the Russian territories since the 14th century. The current Russian ruble was introduced in December 1991 and used at par with the Soviet ruble, which was replaced entirely in September 1993. In 1991, the State Bank introduced notes in denominations of 200, 500, and 1000 rubles, followed by a Russian Federation named notes of 5000 and 1000 rubles in 1992, 50,000 rubles in 1993, 10,000 and 500,000 rubles in 1995. In 1998, the Government redenominated the Russian and introduced new banknotes of 5 ₽, 10 ₽, 50 ₽, 100 ₽, and 500 ₽, followed by the 1,000 ₽ in 2001, 5,000 ₽ in 2006, 200 ₽ and 2,000 ₽ in 2017.
The 100 Russian rubles commemorative note front design illustrates a boy with a soccer ball under his arm looking at Lev Ivanovich Yashin (1929 – 1990) saving a ball; also known as the “Black Spider” or the “Black Panther,” Yasin was a Soviet professional footballer who is regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the soccer history. The design is completed with a soccer stadium background, a holographic sketch of a soccer player kicking a ball, soccer fan’s outlines, and the Bank of Russia logo in the upper-right corner. The reverse of the note features presents a stylized image of the globe with the map of the Russian Federation in the shape of a soccer ball, followed by the names of the territory of Russia that hosted the different matches at the 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP, a holographic sketch of player soccer kicking a ball and outlines of soccer fans. The lettering of the note is presented in the Russian language. This note is part of the 2018 commemorative series ‘’2018 FIFA WORLD CUP”. Its color is blue and green.
