Do you have a Macedonia 1000 Denari Banknote? Here’s how to exchange it with us.
The Macedonian denar is the official currency of North Macedonian. The first denar was introduced in 1992 to replace the Yugoslav dinar at par. After the monetary independence of the Republic of Macedonia, a new denar was introduced in 1993. The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia introduced the first notes in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 denari, followed by the 1000 and 5000 denari in 1996, and 200 and 2000 denari in 2016.
The 1000 Macedonian denari note front design features the Icon of the Virgin Episkepsis from the church of St. Vrachi-Mali, Ohrid, from the beginning of the 14th century, an image of the Child Jesus, two angels and a vessel in the shape of a bird. The reverse of the note presents details of the interior of the church of Saint Vrachi-Mali. The lettering of the note is presented in the Macedonian language. This note is part of the 2003 – 2016 series, and its color is brown and orange on a multicolor underprint.
