Do you have a Honduran 10 Lempiras Banknote? Here’s how to exchange it with us.
The Honduran lempira is the official currency in Honduras and was named in honor of the Cacique Lempira in the 16th Century. The lempira was introduced to replace the peso in 1931. The first banknotes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 lempiras were issued in 1932 by the Bank of Honduras and the Banco Atlantida. In 1950, the 50 and 100 lempiras notes were issued, followed by the 500 lempiras banknote in 1995.
The 10 Lempiras note front design features José Trinidad Cabañas (who was President of Honduras for two separate terms). The reverse note side has the image of the National Autonomous University of Honduras. This note is part of the 2012 – 2016 series and, its color is brown.
