Cayman Islands 25 Dollars

Description

The dollar is the official currency in Cayman Islands since 1972, 10 years after the separation from Colony of Jamaica and substituting the Jamaican dollar. There were issued banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10 and 25 dollars followed by 40 dollars note in 1981. The last one did not circulate for a long. The 100 and 50 dollars note were issues between 1982 and 1987 and in 1997, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority issue a definitely series of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 dollars, and these denominations are circulating nowadays.  

The 25 Dollars note front features Queen Elizabeth II (Queen of the United Kingdom and 15 other commonwealth realms); Scallop shells; a map of the Cayman Islands; a Coat of arms of the Cayman Islands. The reverse note side has a Scallop shell; Hawksbill turtle; fish; coral. This note is part of the 2010-2018 series and, its color is Brown and tan on multicolor underprint. (156 x 66 mm).
