The first paper money issued in the country was the British army’s notes since 1813 and 1815.
The Canadian dollar had an initial introduction dating from the 1830s, and in 1871, after all the government approved the Uniform Currency Act to unify the currency in all Provinces of the country. Currently are circulating banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollars.
The 1 Dollar note front design features Queen Victoria and Prince Consort Albert into an oval design with border. Also a Roebling bridge illustration at Niagara Falls. In addition the denomination are in the superior corners of the note over circular and hexagonal patterns. In all corners appears tribal design.
The color of the banknote is black.
