This coin is part of the 1998 – 2005 series; its milled rim with lettering “STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS.” its color is silver and gold

The pound sterling is the official currency of the United Kingdom, Jersey, England, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, the British Antarctic Territory, and Tristan da Cunha.

For the year 2020, the oldest coins in circulation in the UK are the 1p and 2p copper coins, which were introduced in 1971. The Royal Mint issues all the coins in the United Kingdom.
