Description
The peso is the official currency in Argentina since 1992, and it replaced the austral. The government introduced a coin series with 1, 5, 10, 10 and 25 centavos followed by 1 peso in 1994. The 2 pesos coin were issued in 2010, and in 2017, a new series of coins was announced by the Banco Central de la República de Argentina; denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 10 centavos.
The 25 Centavos coin front design features the Cabildo of Buenos Aires (a museum used as seat of the town council during the colonial era and the government house of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata). The reverse coin design has the denomination and issue year. This coin is part of the 1992 – 2010 series, its rim is fluted, and its color is silver.
