The peso is the official currency in Argentina since 1992, and it replaced the austral. The government introduced a banknotes series with 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 pesos. A coin replaced the 1 peso note. In 2016 the Banco Central de la República de Argentina announced a new banknotes series adding 200 and 500 denominations. One year later, the 1000 pesos note were issued.
The 100 Pesos note front features the Taruca (Hippocamelus antisensis), an autochthonous deer of Argentina. The reverse note side has the Famatina Cord mountain range. This note is part of the 2015 – 2020 series and, its color is violet. (155 × 65 mm).
